The Ember warp has a graduated blend of 3 rich red shades, shifting from a garnet through to a deep claret and dark purple hinted burgundy. The Seaglass weft is made up from 3 different yarns, alternated 1:1:1. There’s a soft glaucous green combed cotton, a glorious teal marled merino lambswool flecked with turquoise and yellow and a shimmery white viscose. Together they’ll create an organic feeling texture to the cloth and a cool seaglass green/blue shade which contrasts beautifully against the warp.
We’ve used this wool before as the silverdale weft, but mixing it with the viscose and cotton yarns will give it a lighter, more airy feel.
Our limited edition wraps and accessories are made from cloth woven in Lancashire, England from ethically sourced yarns, and are sewn by hand here too! All items are fully reversible, meaning that you can wear them either side out for two different looks to the design.
Woven Wrap Sizing
Wrap sizes don’t work in the same way as clothing.
Size numbers refer to the length of the woven wrap- the larger the number, the longer the wrap.
Each size is 50cm (20”) longer than the previous size.
SIZE 1 = 2.2M (7’2”)
SIZE 2 = 2.7M (8’8”)
SIZE 3 = 3.2M (10’ 8”)
SIZE 4 = 3.7M (12’)
SIZE 5 = 4.2M (13’8)
SIZE 6 = 4.7M (15’4”)
SIZE 7 = 5.2M (17’)
SIZE 8 = 5.7M (18’7”)
SIZE 9 = 6.2M (20’3”)
Each length offers different options for tying, so there isn’t a single size that will ‘fit you.
Your body size will determine how big a wrap you need for tying each specific carry. For example, the Front Wrap Cross Carry is a popular starter carry. Some people will be able to use a size 6 for this carry, but others may need a longer (or shorter) wrap depending on their body and baby size.

Possibly the most beautiful wrap I’ve ever had! This came out of the bag and my son (who never cares about wraps) instantly claimed it as his. He’s 22kg! Up he went… and it was great! This was soft enough on my shoulders to carry him , and felt instantly broken in. I have washed it (wool setting with Clothes Doctor wool detergent)and it has got softer still. It’s floppy but strong, and the red is super shiny and festive, but without being in your face.
This will stay forever!

My first order from Firespiral and this is stunning. I ordered a size 3 and it’s great for using as a big chunky scarf and quick toddler ups when needed (IOFRTS and semi DH are my favourites with it). I think for longer wearing it’s worth going for a longer length though and you wouldn’t regret that. It’s a beauty.

An amazing balance of grip and glide, easy to tighten but stays in place.
A nice amount of cush and bounce from the wool, and a slight bandagey feel, (maybe from the viscose?), but still supportive.
Lovely and floppy from the first wash. I can still feel the wool a little bit but I’m very wool sensitive, and I’d imagine with a second wash it will be fine as other Fispi wool has been!

I have loved Firespiral from the very beginning of our journey. Wearing days are few and far between now, but having an Oak Wren poncho as beautiful as this to continue our snuggles is a true joy. Thank you so much for working with such an exceptional maker. We love it.
