Celestine Sunhaze Murmuration is a thicker wrap. It’s forgiving of the sloppiest of wrap jobs, strong, cushy and very supportive.
Vixen Ember Birch Trees is medium thickness. It’s soft and floppy right out of the bag. It’s less forgiving of a poor wrap job than Celestine Sunhaze Murmuration, but so nice and easy to wrap with that a good carry isn’t hard to achieve. It’s a bandagey, bouncy wrap that’s strong and cushy enough to make a five-year-old feel weightless.
Jen and Tamsin at Firespiral are amazing. I had a few questions about choosing wraps and was blown away by how lovely, kind and friendly they are. I couldn’t recommend Firespiral more.
- I love their unique designs. They have enough detail to be interesting but are simple enough to look beautiful no matter how much of the design shows in your wrap job
- I love how their wraps feel. I especially appreciate their floppy alchemy weaves, which in my experience compare only to handwovens. Their designs and choice of fibres also lend a unique texture to their wraps which is satisfying to handle and lends a beautiful grip/glide balance to their wraps.
- I love that they are truly serious about sustainability. This doesn't just show in their products, but also in their approach to business. They have decided against the hype and FOMO based marketing that plagues so many other wrap companies, and I greatly respect them for it because it shows respect to the resources they use as well as their customers.
To summarise: Each Firespiral product is a work of art and their wraps truly one of the most beautiful ways to carry your child.
If you’re in search of a sturdy, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing baby wrap for your toddler, the Nightshade Sunhaze Birch Trees alchemy weave woven wrap might just be what you need. Combining the best of both worlds, this wrap is made from a luxurious blend of 50% merino lambswool and 50% organic combed cotton, and sports a generous 335 GSM.
Material & Comfort:
The wrap’s thickness and woolly texture make it an excellent choice for carrying larger wrappers especially toddlers/preschoolers. The high-quality merino lambswool ensures warmth and softness, while the organic combed cotton adds extra durability and breathability. The blend of these materials provides a comfortable and snuggly fit, perfect for long wearing periods. The thickness of the wrap adds to its supportive nature, making it ideal for heavier children.
Design & Aesthetics:
The Nightshade Sunhaze Birch Trees pattern is visually striking. Its intricate design and vibrant colors will surely turn heads and make a statement. The alchemy weave adds a touch of elegance and uniqueness to the wrap, as of all beautiful Firespiral slings, setting it apart from more common designs.
Usability:
At size 5, this woven wrap offers versatility. It’s long enough to accommodate various wrapping styles, ensuring you can find the perfect fit for you and your child. Despite its thickness, the wrap is relatively easy to manipulate, allowing for secure and comfortable carries. My advice is to size up if you normally wrap on the tails.
Conclusion:
Overall, the Nightshade Sunhaze Birch Trees alchemy weave woven wrap is an outstanding choice for parents looking for a reliable and stylish baby sling. Its blend of merino lambswool and organic combed cotton provides exceptional comfort and support, making it perfect for toddlers. The beautiful design is an added bonus, making this wrap not only practical but also a joy to wear.
